the end of the holidays....

On our last day Paiton and Aunty Hayley came to lunch. We had fun playing inside and out, but especially playing hide and seek under the kitchen benches.
It was so hot for our last day (it got to 40oC again) that we went to uncle Brett's to use the pool again.

merimbula

While we were in australia we got to go on a camp trip to merimbula (NSW). Its right on the coast and we spent plenty of time swimming (at the beach and the pool at the campsite), and just generally enjoying the sunshine and relaxing time - thats us watching a movie during 'quiet time' in the afternoons....I think Mum, Grandma and Papa said they needed a rest??

beach time

a bit overcast today, plenty of rain to keep the bushfires away this year.
after lunch ( and another swim in the pool...try to keep us out of there!) we went for a drive to Pambula. On the way we got to see some "wildlife" said J. He counted "69" altogether - kangaroos, adults and plenty of baby joeys. They would just stop on the side of the road and joeys would peep out of the pouch to stare at J and DJ as they stared back, excitedly pointing. Then as the rain had stopped we found a beach with plenty of rock pools and perfect sand for sandcastles. What a way to end the day.

merimbula

off to magic mountain today. it was a bit overcast to start with but it soon got rather warm. we started with the dry activities....roller coaster - "a bit scary said J, I'll go back when my heart stops beating (so fast)" but it didn't take long he went on five times in all! Then onto the carpet slide, the toboggan and the grandprix cars. Then it was time for the water slides. J braved the black hole (solo) and little bro DJ followed. J was on again and again, chatting to the other kids in the line and racing back up the hill for another go. DJ decided enough after a dumping behind a bigger slider, its hard when you're just over a metre to keep your head above the water. Wonder whats happening tomorrow?

its hot here

Heading up to 35 today, very warm for us kiwi kids. But we take it in hand, the sprinkler was on for the roses so we made the most of the opportunity and were getting a good soak too.
Earlier in the day we met up with Dakota and her baby sister Mollie to celebrate her birthday.

packed and ready to roll

We are off to "rimbula" (Merimubula) tomorrow say J and DJ. The van is packed and so were we....on the roof. Helping Papa pack, so we said.

The glove box is stocked with mentos mints and DJ's favourites "buttertos" (butterscotch). Its a long way so we might have to stop for a few wee breaks.

4 wheels drive

We went "4 wheels driving" today. With uncle Brett and Kota. We went down steep hills and through the river. We stopped for lunch at a hut and had sausages on the bbq. And then a swim in the river.

"it was really really cool. I liked it because we were going down a really steep hill. And then back up the other side. Then we went past a camping site" DJ

"are there sharks in the river?" J

On new years eve it was 40 oC! And still 38 at 6pm so DJ and I went for a swim in Uncle Brett's pool. Dakota joined us and even little Mollie. It was dark and we were still swimming. What a way to see the new year.
