the summit ride

On the weekend Daddy and I went riding again. This time to the Rimataka incline where you ride through the old railway tunnels. It was very dark and Daddy had to use the light on his bike so we could see where we were going.

I can't wait to have my own bike so I can pedal as fast as Daddy.

Trying the crayons

Big brother Jakob had some new crayons to try out so I decided to have a go drawing too....

Although it seems that I like to taste the crayons more than draw with them.

birthday boy

Hi

I had a party for my first birthday on Saturday. It was a great day, playing at the park, having a special cake (thanks to my Godmother Nicola) and then out for lunch.

I missed you Grandma and Papa, maybe you can come next year?

Thanks to everyone for helping me celebrate my birthday.

bike ride

It has been a great weekend for bikeriding. The weather has been perfect for getting out on the bike with Daddy. He took me for a long ride on Friday into Wellington and I had so much fun I asked to go out again on Sunday.

Mummy and Dylan went for a walk while Daddy and I rode from Harcourt Park in Upper Hutt all the way to Avalon Park in Lower Hutt. We stopped for morning tea on the way and I got my camera out to take some photos. I have so much fun clicking away. Then we were on to Avalon Park. When we got there Dylan had a ride on the bike with Daddy. He thought it was very funny giggling when he was on the bike, I ran after them trying to take some pictures.

Today we went to look at a bike for me, I liked the orange one and Mummy and Daddy said if I am a good boy I can get it for my birthday!

chocolate....

On Sunday morning I woke up to find a rabbit in my bedroom. On further investigation it seemed there was one in Dylan's room as well. I raced in to tell Mummy and Daddy. They seemed a bit sleepy and told me to go back to bed (come on, it was getting light outside even if the clock only said 6am).

Later that morning I put on my gumboots and Dylan and I went outside to check out the garden. The easter bunny had left some more chocolate in the yard for us! I found them on the grass and around the house, Dylan found some on the steps. He got the hang of it very quickly and even showed his skill at climbing the stairs to get an egg.

We had a great day eating lots of chocolate. Thanks easter bunny!

photo man

I have discovered photography. Daddy said that I could use his old camera and I have had great fun. Tonight I was telling Daddy to 'say cheese' while I took his photo. Dylan was my first subject. Very accepting, he enjoyed the extra attention I think. Can't wait to see what my photos look like!

bike ride

Sunday saw Daddy and I off on another bike ride. This time it was around the coast at Eastbourne to the Pencarrow Lighthouse. I was very excited to finally see the lighthouse Daddy had been telling me about. I even got a t-shirt with a picture of the lighthouse.

Daddy said it was very windy, but I had a great ride, I even had a little snooze on the way home.

torch and treasure night

On Friday nigth Mummy and Daddy joined Dylan and I at Playcentre. We had a fish and chip night and then afterwards we (the big kids) got to go outside and look for the treasure stones with our torches. Daddy and I went hunting in the dark and I found three....and then many more but Daddy said I had to put them back so the other kids could find some.

It was great to show Daddy my playcentre, I think he enjoyed it too.
