in the swim

This week I started big boy lessons at the pool. Mummy doesn't have to get in the pool with me any more, its just me, the teacher and three other kids. Its a whole new experience but I'm getting the hang of it. Mum took this picture of me practcing my bubbles. Check out the cool bathing cap....I wasn't too keen intially but I did wear it in the end.

DJ's week

Hi

I've been out and about with Mummy this week. Jakob has either been at Playcentre or out cycling with Daddy.

Mummy caught a shot of me in my cot, I smile my cutest smiles when I'm hoping to get out of my cot. Mummy is mean though and says that I have to have a sleep........

On Tuesday Mummy was on duty at the toylibrary so I got to check out all the toys (and some new friends). I enjoyed the excersaucer as it gave me a height advantage and I can stand upright, my current fav position.

On Sunday we went for a walk on the Petone Esplanade. I hitched a ride with Cameron in his double buggy. Its pretty cool for riding in and it converts to a bike trailer....take note Daddy you could be taking me out on a ride too!

With my skin Mummy has been giving me special baths, but Jakob doesn't like the coloured water so we compromised and now we can still have a bath together! Mummy will have to find a bigger bucket for me soon, I keep wanting to reach out for extra toys to add to my collection and that doesn't leave much room for me.

river fun

On the weekend I went for a trip to Kaitoke Park with my friend Ashlee. We had a picnic lunch and then played in the river. It was the first time I had been in a river and it was lots of fun. especially all the rocks.
Daddy helped me to get across the river the first time and then I was off to explore. I pretended to be a frog sitting on a rock (see photo). And then Ashlee and I put on our goggles to look under the water. I can't wait to go next time, we might even go camping there!

baby on the move

This week Daddy and I have been practising my crawl moves. I have mastered the pose, but thats all for now. Why should I crawl when I can roll everywhere I need to go?

I have also been enjoying books, heres a photo of me reading one, I love to read it in the bath too. Mummy took us to the library on Wednesday and I had as much fun as Jakob choosing some books. Although my assessment of a book usually inlcudes its 'chewability' as well as topic of interest.
